Intro

Welcome to Experimaker basics. In this video, we’ll be looking at all the different ways to modify your layout.

Visible container line toggle

To start, let’s make the container lines visible. This can make it easier to understand what’s happening.

Layout presets

Let’s look at the available layout presets. There are 3 presets with 4 containers, 3 presets with 3 containers, 2 presets with 2 containers, and of course, only 1 preset with a single container.

Link existing stimulus sets to container

From the layout tab, you can change which stimulus set is linked to a given container.

Upload new stimulus sets to container

You can also upload a new stimulus set, to be linked directly to the container of your choice.

Alignment options

You can change the alignment of your stimulus set, relative to the container lines of the selected layout. There are 9 anchor points in total. The relative size of the stimulus and container affect how large the difference in alignment is. Watch the change in alignment when the stimulus is only a little bigger than the container. And now watch the change in alignment when the same stimulus is linked to a much larger container.

Scaling options

If you’re working with images, you can also modify scaling options. You can choose to scale your image stimuli relative to the size of its container. Or, when pixel perfect presentation is important, you can choose to preserve its original size. But be careful – if the size of the container is smaller than the original image, then, the image will be cropped to fit.
