You can navigate through an Experimaker experiment in 4 main ways:

Footer Navigation

Use the media controls in the footer to navigate. This type of navigation will not be recorded in the save data preview.

Go to previous block: Skip directly to the first trial of the preceding block. This is usually the preceding block in the block order list. If you have a complex experiment with advanced navigation options, Experimaker will determine which block is the preceding block, according to your logic.

Go to previous trial: Skip directly to the preceding trial. This is usually the preceding trial in the trial order list. If you have a complex experiment with advanced navigation options, Experimaker will determine which trial is the preceding trial, according to your logic.

Play: Re-render the current trial from the beginning. This is useful if you have a complex experiment with many actions happening in a single trial.

Pause: Pause the actions unfolding in the current trial. This is useful if you have a complex experiment with many actions happening in a single trial. If you press pause while the current trial is static, nothing will happen.

Go to next trial: Skip directly to the next trial. This is usually the next trial in the trial order list. If you have a complex experiment with advanced navigation options, Experimaker will determine which trial is the next trial, according to your logic.

Go to next block: Skip directly to the first trial of the next block. This is usually the next block in the block order list. If you have a complex experiment with advanced navigation options, Experimaker will determine which block is the next block, according to your logic.

Timeline Slider Navigation

The timeline slider appears when the current block has more than 1 timepoint. Click on a timepoint to navigate directly to that timepoint.

Sidebar Navigation

Click on a block or timepoint card in the block tab or timeline tab in the sidebar to navigate directly to the selected block or timepoint. Select your current block and timepoint from the dropdowns in the layout tab or block options tab in the sidebar. This type of navigation will not be recorded in the save data preview.

Experiment Navigation

Navigate through the experiment as a participant would, according to the participant response settings you have selected. You must click media, type keys or press buttons in the experiment view. This type of navigation will be recorded in the save data preview.
